Back to home About the Programme

Built to close the gap between the classroom and the agribusiness.

GrowthInAgric is a strategic initiative to develop the next generation of high-performing agricultural professionals in Nigeria.

Why We Exist

A talent pipeline, not another training course.

Nigeria’s agricultural sector faces a widening talent gap. Universities produce thousands of graduates annually, yet most lack the practical, business, and leadership competencies required by a rapidly evolving industry.

At the same time agricultural start-ups — the fastest-growing segment of the sector — cannot afford to recruit senior professionals, but urgently need capable, work-ready talent.

GrowthInAgric addresses this mismatch directly. By combining structured technical training, one-on-one mentorship, and direct industrial placement with partner start-ups, the programme converts promising graduates into deployable agri-professionals within three months.

2026 Launch target for the pilot phase

GrowthInAgric self-funds the pilot cohort as a non-profit initiative — to establish proof of concept, build credibility, and create a replicable model that can attract future partners and sponsors.

Mission & Vision

What we are building, and what it looks like when it works.

Our Mission

To build a pipeline of competent, career-ready agricultural professionals who can drive the growth of emerging agribusinesses.

Our Vision

A Nigeria where no agricultural start-up struggles to find skilled, motivated, and affordable talent.

Core Values

Five principles that govern how we operate.

01

Excellence

High standards in training delivery and fellow performance.

02

Integrity

Transparent operations and accountable programme management.

03

Innovation

Adopting climate-smart and data-driven approaches to agribusiness.

04

Collaboration

Building bridges between academia, industry, and communities.

05

Impact

Every decision is measured against real, measurable change in fellows’ careers.

Strategic Objectives

Five commitments for the pilot and beyond.

  1. Equip every fellow with industry-relevant skills Five to ten fellows per cohort trained in the technical and professional competencies agribusinesses actually hire for.

  2. Place 100% of graduating fellows Every fellow who completes the programme is placed with a partner start-up company.

  3. Build a national partner network A growing network of agricultural start-up partners across Nigeria.

  4. Establish a replicable model A structure scalable to 50+ fellows per cohort within three years.

  5. Create a self-reinforcing alumni community A strong alumni network that feeds back into the programme as mentors.
